The Prophet of Yonwood by Jeanne Duprau

I am Nickie from The Prophet of Yonwood.

Hello. My name is Nickie and I am eleven years old. I live in Philadelphia. It is just me and my mom. Where I live is a nice place but I don't have any friends. All of them moved away. There is a place I really want to go to it is called Yonwood. I have never seen Yonwood but I thought that it would be a great place. In my life the problem is that I have wanted to go to Yonwood for a long time and my mom won't let me go. My three goals are :1. Keep greenhaven 2. Fall in love 3. Help the world.

After a long time of begging my mom, she finally let me go to Yonwood. When I got there it was nothing as I thought it would be. The house was very big but not what I thought it would look like. When we got to the house I saw something or someone in the window. I found out that there is a person and a dog that lives in the house. Only I know about her and her dog. I would tell my Aunt about the dog but she doesn't like dogs.

This town is not like any other town. It is different. Weird things happen in this town. For example when I was walking on the street a old woman came up to me and said, "Don't be scared you'll be ok as long as you pray." I didn't have any idea what it meant, untill I talked to the girl that lives in my house. She said that it was the prophet. By saying the prophet it meant the end of the world. I don't exactly understand what that means but everyone believese I this in Yonwood. My Aunt Crystal doesn't understand that I want to keep the house. All she is doing is workng on selling It.

  1. It sounds like a good book. I like you gave details about family and problems in her life. I would read it.

  2. I know that this is the third book in the series, and it explains how the underground world ended up being formed. It's a good book, and I liked your descriptions of it. I want to know why the aunt wanted to sell the house so badly, and why Nickie wants so badly to keep it. Once you finish this book, if you haven't read City of Ember or People of Sparks, you need to!
