I am Shane from High Heat.
My name is Shane Hunter. I'm 16 years old and I go to Shorelake Academy. One of my favorite things to do is play baseball. I play for Shorelake, I'm a closer which means I play in the last innings to save or close the game. Our team was 5-0 in the season and made three saves. Greg and Cody Miller and I were the only sophomores on the team and we were the goofy ones too. We would always prank other players or people in the bleachers. They would never catch us which was really funny. We won against Cedarcrest, but there was any applause because a problem we had during the game.
At home, I live with my parents and little sister. Me and my sister go to the same school. My dad owns his own dealership and my mom is at home all the time. We lived in a decent neighborhood which not a everybody could afford. I really liked my dad because he also played my favorite sport. I have posters of baseball players that I admire. My sister Marian usually stays in her room and plays with her pet rat. My dad had a problem with his dealership. They said that he was selling cars to drug dealers which they would use to transport the drugs.
This affected us in every way and mostly my mom. We thought everything was going to be alright until my dad shot himself. That affected me a lot because I saw my dad as role model. He was the one that inspire me to be a baseball player like him. Me and my sister were really worried about what was going to happen to us. Marian said that we were going to live in the back of a car or in the streets. I kept telling her that it was never going to happen. My mom as really affected by our problem. She kept on smoking and drinking way more than she used to. We were going to move to another place and another school. I wonder if my life is going to get better?
Very good post Juan. You gave very delightful details! I felt as if I just read the book. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteYou tell a lot about Shane's life. I like how you didn't just talk about his sport life you talk about other things in his life. The only reason I really wouldn't look this book it i don't like baseball.
